Default FD3S RX7: Ignition breakup over 7psi/under load (MSD 6A)

Running an MSD 6A with an MSD GM twin tower coil for my leading ignition.

Tuner was having problems with the igntion breaking up any time you load up the engine or go above 7psi boost, this is with NGK BUR9EQ plugs. Plugs looked fine, not at all worn or corroded. I'm using the stock igniter to trigger the MSD box, my trailing ignition is AEM IGN1A coils. When I test the spark against the chassis I get a nice, strong and clear spark and the car will cruise, idle and fast accelerate fine as long as you keep it on part throttle and don't let the boost go too high.

    Any ideas?

Are you talking about the timing signal going away?..check grounds.
Or. The motor losing power...close the plug gaps of the "resistor" plugs.
Or is the tach showing random RPM's...use resistor plugs and wires.

Google says your plugs are resistor...but I have worked on a motor that had 7 bad, new ( less then 1/2 hour run time ) sparkplugs.

Car is losing power and misfiring, you can hear it dumping fuel out of the exhaust.

I'll give some different plugs a try and close the gap a bit, the BUR9EQ plugs are rotary specific with a fixed gap. Cheers!

I'd try BR9EIX, then you can experiment with gaps.
Sounds like your leading plug sparks are getting "blown out" under higher compression pressure from manifold boost.

Cheers Gary, you're not the first person to suggest this!

I've got some BR10EIX to try, tuner did suggest that some colder plugs so I'll throw them on and play with the gap.
