    Default 1980 Pontiac 301t, 6al2 programmable 6530

    Hello

this is my first post here, I would like to upgrade my ignition and was told 6530 would be a great control box.

I have the stock hei, it is a carb car, upgraded turbo stock housings, motor work done

how difficult and what would I need to do a basic intall this box? from a basic install to a all out MSD ignition?

    thanks Kevin

Wiring a 6AL2 with a stock HEI wont be a problem here's the diagram.

Until you get into rotor phasing issues.
You will need to modify your rotor, or change the distributor.

the biggest issue i have is with the motor work and bigger turbo, i can't dial the stock dist. weights, dist cam, back enough to not have knock. thought the 6530 might fix my timing curve issue. but didn't want to get all new ignition top to bottom.

    thanks for your input
